As a legislative member of the Tri-County Council of Southern Maryland, I am happy to report that we were able to keep the replacement of the Thomas Johnson Bridge as Southern Maryland’s top regional transportation priority. I believe that an improved Thomas Johnson Bridge is vital not only to the residents of St. Mary’s and Calvert Counties who regularly travel it, but also to future economic growth in Southern Maryland as a whole. There were several very worthy projects that were considered by the Tri-County Council during this process, and I am grateful to have been able to work with the Delegates and Commissioners from St. Mary’s and Calvert Counties to prioritize this project which is important for the quality of life of our constituents. I will continue to advocate for this project and other transportation improvements for District 29.
