Day 52 – Coronavirus Information

As the state of emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Senator Bailey wanted to ensure that resources and information related to the State’s response are available to everyone in District 29. 

General Information

The Maryland Department of Health is posting updates about COVID-19 in our State, along with background on the symptoms of the virus and how to slow its spread at https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/.

Governor Hogan and his administration have taken a number of steps to address this outbreak.  More details on actions taken by the Governor so far is available at https://governor.maryland.gov/coronavirus/.

Maryland is also fortunate to be home to some of the world’s leading medical institutions, including Johns Hopkins University, which is posting resources at https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/.

Information for Businesses

Many businesses have been disrupted by this outbreak and the State’s efforts to slow its spread.  The Maryland Department of Commerce is posting updates for affected businesses at https://businessexpress.maryland.gov/coronavirus.

Information for Affected Employees

The Maryland Department of Labor has answered frequently asked questions from employees who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic regarding unemployment benefits at http://labor.maryland.gov/employment/uicovidfaqs.shtml.

It is critical to continue to heed the advice from Federal, State, and Local governments regarding this pandemic.
