It was another busy weekend for Senator Bailey in District 29. On Saturday, Senator Bailey attended the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad’s 44th Annual Installation of Officers, and presented citations to honor members for the length of their service and dedicated volunteerism. Senator Bailey’s wife Karin also presented citations on Senator Bailey’s behalf on Saturday to members of the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department.
On Monday, Senator Bailey observed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by attending the annual Southern Maryland Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The keynote speaker was Dr. Jason Johnson, a professor of politics and journalism at Morgan State University.
Prior to coming to Annapolis for the third week of the 2020 Session, the Senator was able to take a bit of extra time for one of his favorite activities, spending time with his children. They were able to go goose hunting on Saturday morning.
If you were watching NBC Washington this evening, you may have seen Senator Bailey on the news. The Senator was interviewed about a bill that he is sponsoring regarding electric room partition safety in schools. The bill has been introduced as Senate Bill 258, and is one of a series of bills Senator Bailey has introduced so far this session. You can read more about this bill here: Senate Bill 258
